2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe: Official Release

The new Cadillac CTS is doing huge things for the brand. Who would have ever thought a Cadillac would be lapping the ring and giving the Germans a hard run for their money? Either way, Cadillac officially released the coupe version today, and is saying a CTS-V version is to come along for 2010. Two less doors with the same performance and power of the current V-model sound very enticing–do we smell another challenge?

Aptera Has Pushed Back Production Until 2010

There has been a lot of rumours on whether the Aptera would actually deliver on their flightless wonder by Christmas, however they have now stated that they will be pushing out in 2010.

Hopefully, the delay won’t be a full year as it was the last time they announced delivery postponement. According to the company, fundraising efforts didn’t keep pace with vehicle development, so they’re taking measures to slow the cash burn. One of those unfortunate actions involved laying off an unspecified number of employees, though one of them, co-founder Steve Fambro, has said he will resume his role next year. Addressing the situation he said:

Right now my advanced work is a lower priority for Aptera. We’ve got to be wholly focused on funding and getting the first 2e on the road. Paul’s leadership and (chief engineer) Tom Reichenbach’s talent have led to changes in the vehicle that are spot-on. They’ve made the vehicle safer, it’s better handling and more comfortable. Once we get through this stage, we’ll begin mass producing the 2e – the most aerodynamic and efficient vehicle in the world.

Hummer getting plans in order for H4 and H5 models

Sales of Hummer have been in decline for a while now and Im sure it will decrease even further, because of the General Motors sale to China’s Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. Ltd.

When Tengzhong gets the keys to the Hummer kingdom, it will also receive engineering plans for the H4, a new smaller model that is reportedly based on the HX Concept from the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.Its reported that the Hummer Jeep Wrangler fighter could arrive within three years. Also possible is an even smaller Hummer H5, which would help the SUV automaker to meet future CAFE requirements.

GM will reportedly cease building Hummer models as early as the end of 2010. Thus, will the sale and the new models save the Hummer make?
