Jalopnik have reported that Lance Stroll has become the youngest ever person to be signed by Ferrari Racing. 11 year odl Lance is two-time Canadian Karting champion.

Lance will be the youngest ever recruit of the academy, but according to Ferrari Driving Academy director Luca Baldisserri, “He is very young, but he has already shown in karting that he is exceptionally talented. We will follow him step by step in his forthcoming events in North America and he will soon also take part in our courses at Maranello.”

Romain Grosjean has called up last season to replace Nelson Piquet Jr at Renault, but without a drive in 2010 he has reiterated his desire to return Formula One.

Grosjean didnt do so well with his races in last season Formula One, failing to score a single World Championship point.

The Frenchman, who had hoped to continue with the team this season, was ousted at the end of the year in favour of Vitaly Petrov, leaving him without a F1 drive.

And although he did find a race-seat in GT1 with Matech Ford, Grosjean is hoping for another shot at F1.

“It is not a new life, it is not forgetting Formula 1, I don’t hide that my aim is to go back to F1 next year for sure,” he told Autosport.

“But on the other hand driving is my passion and it is my job as well.

“It’s a new experience for me and maybe for the future it can help. And for sure I’m still trying to get the good contacts and the good opportunities to go to F1 next year.

“But for this year this opportunity came up. It is not like I want to switch my ideal career. It’s just one year, but I want to drive, I enjoy driving and when the chance came I thought it was good to take it.”

Silverstone was within a hair’s breath of losing the British GP to Donington Park, however, the latter’s financial woes saw F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone instead sign a new deal with Silverstone.

The Northamptonshire track has subsequently undergone several changes, including the building of a new in-field circuit, which cost £5million and will be used for this year’s British GP.

“There were sleepless nights and many stressful moments,” Hill told the Daily Mail.

“We think we have produced a racetrack of the future. It looks like it has the potential to be a real corker.

“We’re living in a really powerful age of British motor racing, and long may that continue as far as Silverstone is concerned.

“What’s been achieved at Silverstone is down to the determination and hard work of a dedicated team.

“But we can’t be complacent – you only have to look across the Channel and see the effects on French motorsport now that it doesn’t have a grand prix any more.”

He added: “We think we have the world’s greatest racetrack and I’m fighting tooth and nail to make sure it stays that way.”

Everyone knows why Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds were removed from Forumla One racing. Finally the whole ordeal is over and you will soon be seeing Briatore and Symonds back in F1 in 2013.

Briatore fought back and had the ruling overturned in court on procedural grounds. The FIA said it would appeal Flavio’s appeal (and we’re not talking about his famous supermodel-luring swagger here), but now the two parties have apparently reached an out-of-court settlement.

Both Briatore and Symonds will soon be cleared to return to F1 or other FIA-sanctioned series, beginning at the start of 2013 F1 season and the end of 2011 for other racing disciplines. In the meantime, the FIA is abandoning further legal recourse, citing the best interest of the organization and of motorsport as its motivation.

The decision handed down by the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris on 5 January 2010 at the request of Mr Flavio Briatore and Mr Pat Symonds, which the FIA has appealed, revealed a poor understanding of how the disciplinary procedure before the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) works.

In accordance with the undertakings made by the FIA President during his campaign, it will be proposed at the next General Assembly, at the end of 2010, that a structural reform, on which the FIA Statutes Review Commission is currently working, be adopted to prevent other misunderstandings.

In the meantime, at its meeting in Bahrain on 11 March 2010, the WMSC decided on the one hand to adopt a Code of Practice to clarify the working of its disciplinary procedure, and on the other hand to give the FIA President full authority to seek a definitive outcome, whether judicial or extrajudicial, to the disputes with Mr Flavio Briatore and Mr Pat Symonds, best preserving the interests of the FIA.

After discussions between their lawyers and those of the FIA, Mr Flavio Briatore and Mr Pat Symonds have each made a settlement offer to the FIA President with a view to putting an immediate end to the legal proceedings. Each of them recognising his share of responsibility for the deliberate crash involving the driver Nelson Piquet Junior at the 2008 Grand Prix of Singapore, as “Team Principal” of Renault F1 where Mr Flavio Briatore is concerned, they have expressed their regrets and presented their apologies to the FIA.

They have undertaken to abstain from having any operational role in Formula One until 31 December 2012, as well as in all the other competitions registered on the FIA calendars until the end of the 2011 sporting season. They have also abandoned all publicity and financial measures resulting from the judgment of 5 January 2010, as well as any further action against the FIA on the subject of this affair.

In return, they have asked the FIA to abandon the ongoing appeal procedure, but without the FIA recognising the validity of the criticisms levelled against the WMSC’s decision of 21 September 2009, as well as to waive the right to bring any new proceedings against them on the subject of this affair.

Considering that the judgment of 5 January 2010 concerned only the form and not the substance of the WMSC’s decision of 21 September 2009, and that the undertakings and renunciation of all claims expressed by Mr Flavio Briatore and Mr Pat Symonds are in line with what the WMSC is seeking, the FIA President has considered that it is in the best interests of the FIA not to allow the perpetuation of these legal disputes, which have received a great deal of media coverage and which, regardless of the outcome, are very prejudicial to the image of the FIA and of motor sport, and thus to accept this settlement solution, thereby putting an end to this affair.

It has an amazing journey for Red Bull Racing, but at yesterdays Malaysian Grand Prix it must have been one of their best ever results.

Sebastian Vettel drove an amazing race yesterday, while team mate Mark Webber kept up the pace nicely. Red Bull finished 1st and 2nd yesterday in Malaysia, while Felipe Massa finished down the field and Fernando Alonso failing to finish.

The Lotus Racing team has signed a partnership deal with leading news network CNN, it was announced on Tuesday.

The team, which is bringing the Lotus name back to Formula 1 for the first time since 1993, said CNN’s logos will on the T127 cars during the 2010 season.

“We are very proud to welcome CNN into the Lotus Racing family,” said team principal Tony Fernandes.

“It is a sign of the positive impact we have already made in the global business market that such a prestigious brand, familiar to millions around the world as the definitive source of news and current affairs, has made the decision to partner with us.

“The whole team and I are looking forward to working with CNN in the months and years to come on some very exciting campaigns.”

The deal will be managed by CNN’s commercial ‘Partner Solutions Group’, led by Rani Raad, senior vice president CNN International Advertising Sales.

Jacques Villeneuve remains optimistic that he can secure a place on the 2010 starting grid. Despite being 38 Jacques still believes he has a lot to offer a team. The former World Champion has been linked to a number of teams but is still yet to be confirmed for a spot.

“I continue to work hard to explain to teams why it is a good idea to put me in their car and, frankly, I feel that the message is getting better and better,” the Canadian explained to ruefrontenac.

“I am convinced that many teams are disillusioned over the choices they made,” he added, apparently in reference to the increase in ‘pay drivers’.

Indeed, Villeneuve has now been linked to a position with Renault following reports that the money Russian driver Vitaly Petrov reportedly promised Renault when he joined the team may fail to materialise.

However, even if Petorv does lose his seat as a result the former BAR driver is only one of many that will be in contention for the drive.

McLaren have announced that they will stream the launch of their 2010 challenger online.

McLaren will launch their new car, the MP4-25, at main sponsor’s Vodafone’s UK headquarters in Newbury on Friday 29 January.

However, fans will be able to follow all the action live, including the on-stage interviews with new driver Jenson Button an his team-mate Lewis Hamilton, by checking out the internet.
