Aston Martin Racing To Sell Their Prototypes

It has been reported over at Autosport that Aston Martin Racing intends to build six of its next Le Mans prototypes for collectors and customer teams over the next two years.

Aston Martin Racing haven’t sold any bespoke prototypes since 1989, and this is a great opportunity for collectors and fans all around the world.

David Richards, chairman of Prodrive and Aston Martin Racing, said last week:

A new Aston P1 would be greenlit if AMR was sure its V12, gasoline-powered car was competitive with diesel-powered ones, like those from Audi and Peugeot. Autosport says AMR has yet to confirm the bespoke-car plan, but the Jota team did announce a multiyear deal with Aston some say will bring it into the prototype ranks in 2012.
